TRADEMARK PRACTICE - Canada - FOREIGN CLIENTS REGISTERING IN CANADA

(Note: you must be a Canadian Trademark Agent to buy this practice)

The seller enjoyed a long career as an IP lawyer/trademark agent both in-house and in government positions.

Following retirement from full-time practice 3 years ago, the seller has maintained a part-time Trademark Law Practice.  The seller works approximately 15 hours per week and deals exclusively with foreign clients registering trademarks in Canada.

This practice has minimal overhead as it is completely internet based.  The seller works from a home office.

Although it is currently based out of British Columbia, the physical location is not being transferred and the buyer could be located anywhere in Canada.  The buyer needs to be a Registered Trademark Agent in Canada.

The seller registers Trademark applications, handles Office Actions, Opposition Proceedings and Section 45 Cancellation Proceedings.

This is a great opportunity for a Trademark Agent wishing to work part-time or alternatively an existing Trademark Law practice could increase its footprint by taking over the client list.  The practice has excellent growth opportunity.

CALGARY ALBERTA LAW FIRM

This longstanding practice is a small firm with an excellent reputation in the community and loyal repeat clientele. The legal work is approximately 80% solicitor-based, with a focus on Corporate/Financing/Securities, Wills/Estates and Real Estate. There is also some Oil & Gas, Employment Law and IP work. General Litigation composes 20% of the practice.

There is a large wills bank and approximately 700 corporate reports are prepared annually.

There is opportunity for expansion in all practice areas. The premises are on the top floor of a Beltline building and have room for additional lawyers and staff.

The practice would be suitable for a small to mid-sized firm wishing to expand to the Calgary area. The sellers are willing to provide a substantial transition period to the incoming lawyers.

CENTRAL ALBERTA PRACTICE - General Practice

This practice started 100 years ago and is located in the historic downtown core of this Central Alberta city. Practice mix is about 50% RE, Wills/Estates and Corporate/Commercial; the remainder is Family Law/litigation and Commercial litigation. Billings are in the high six figures and the practice is exceptionally profitable.  The practice boasts fantastic staff, and the premises have space for an additional lawyer.

The seller is willing to contemplate the sale of the building.  Please note that Ms. Geiger does not handle real estate sales and the seller will have a licensed realtor for any such transaction.
